There are some mathematics that we've come to use to describe some of the geometry and patterns nature uses.
These descriptions might include the famed Fibonacci Series (1,2,3,5,8,13,21...), where each number is generated by adding the previous number.
It can often describe how many leaves come about, the relationships of their sizes, how many branches are created, the spirals of growth they follow, etc...
